Chilean Earthquake Shifts the Earth’s Axis?

“The quake that rocked the South American nation may have also knocked the Earth off its axis.

The 8.8-magnitude earthquake near Chile may have also made our planet’s days shorter, according to NASA scientist Richard Gross.

A minor change in the Earth’s axis isn’t expected to alter much in terms of weather. The planet’s tilt influences the seasons, allowing for winter, spring, summer and fall, and it would take a far greater change in the Earth’s axis to affect them.

The Chile quake may have moved the Earth’s axis by about 3 inches, Gross said.

The quake also shortened the day by 1.26 microseconds, the scientist determined, using a complex model he and others developed.

The Earth’s rotation was likely affected by the shift in the planet’s mass, which could cause it to spin faster.

Scientists believe other quakes, such as the 2004 9.1-magnitude earthquake in Sumatra, have also decreased the Earth’s day. That quake is believed to have shortened it by 6.8 microseconds, and altered the axis by nearly 7 inches.”

20 Years Old

So tomorrow is my birthday.  I’ll be 20 Years Old…wow I feel like I have lived much longer than 20 years.  Yesterday I did something out of the norm.  I went and fed the ducks with my dad.  Funny thing is…everyone else had the same idea.  I mean the ducks were so fucking full they didn’t want any.  There were full pieces of bread floating around everywhere.

After that we went to Pet-O-Rama, a pet store that I notice near my new apartments.  We went in and it must have been meant to be because this beautiful Macaw was there.  He was born in November.  They wanted $1,500.00!

It’s a lot of responsibility though.  They have the mind of an 8 year old and can live up to 70 years.  They get attached for life, so you can’t just give them away…It’s a little too much for me right now so I told my dad to wait.  They also had these African Grey’s that were born yesterday:

So adorable… but just like the Macaws… they are pretty large birds and live just as long.  They are just as smart with lots ofinteraction. And There was this BEAUTIFUL red and purple Parrott.  Oh she was gorgeous and could talk, but i don’t think she liked me… she did like my daddy though!

Ignorance

Seriously, it’s pathetic that I often have to talk to myself because it’s the only time that I can have an intelligent conversation.  The number of idiots I deal with in one day amazes me.  Most people are confused with the word Ignorance…

Ignorance is the state in which one lacks knowledge, is unaware of something or chooses to subjectively ignore information. This should not be confused with being unintelligent, as one’s level of intelligence and level of education or general awareness are not the same. The word “Ignorant” is an adjective describing a person in the state of being unaware.

So what really fucking annoys me is the fact that I know for sure that these people are not as stupid as they act because I have seen them do things at work  which proves them perfectly capable of normal tasks.  But the next day, the work they do shows how much they really don’t care.  But I guess that’s my job right? To correct people all day.

Phoebe

So my female budgie has had trouble flying lately and its worsening. She’s almost 9 years old so her time is coming. 😦 I’m trying to keep her as comfortable as possible. She acts normal. Happy, playful, hungry, talkative, frisky…and she isn’t able to understand that she can’t fly. She keeps trying with no success.  At first it was just unbalanced flying, now she goes straight down. I hope she will be okay. I examined her wings, she didn’t seem bothered when I checked them.
